More success for Remo Schacher: After collecting the Swiss title in his professional category in October 2012, which earned him a ticket to WorldSkills (the world championships), the former telematics apprentice has come a respectable fifth in the world.
Remo Schacher went into WorldSkills in Leipzig in early July 2013 without really expecting to win, so he was really pleased to come away with a world championship certificate in the Information Network Cabling category. Remo Schacher completed his apprenticeship at Alpiq InTec Ost AG in summer 2011 and still works for Alpiq as a system engineer.
WorldSkills in Leipzig welcomed competitors from 54 countries and regions, with over 1000 people coming to showcase their skills. There were 39 young professionals representing Switzerland, who came second overall behind Korea.
