On 25 February 2010, the trial operation period came to an end; the system was handed over to the cantonal waste disposal company. An official opening ceremony is planned for late summer 2010.
KAM was concerned during the planning, delivery and assembly of the complete energy part; with a steam turbine, air condensation system, piping and components of the water-steam cycle, the cooling water system, the bulky-waste preparation and the entire crane equipment. Alpiq InTec Ticino assumed responsibility for the planning, supply and assembly of the whole of the electrical and control technology system for the monitoring and control of the whole process.
Alpiq Prozessautomation and Kummler + Matter SA in Mezzovico, were also strongly involved in the work on this part of the plant.
