#prixalpiq – applications now open!

For the third consecutive year, Alpiq, in partnership with the Association of Concession-Granting Municipalities of Valais, is opening applications for the #prixalpiq – a prize that supports the municipalities of the Valais in the development of concrete projects in favour of sustainable water management, whether in the fields of agriculture, the environment, energy, tourism, art, or others.

Water management is a major and particularly current challenge for municipalities, as the heat wave and drought that occurred last summer clearly showed. These events had a significant impact on water resources and underlined the importance of managing them in a sustainable manner. Water is a resource that must be preserved and enhanced, and municipalities play a major role in fulfilling this mission. The #prixalpiq supports them in such endeavours. 

For whom is it for? 

Municipalities, companies, start-ups, research centres, students and freelancers with a sustainable water management project. The project must be sponsored by one or more Valais municipalities.  

How much is it? 

Prizes worth a total of CHF 50,000 will be awarded for the implementation of concrete solutions in Valais municipalities.  

When is it open? 

Applications are open until 31 May 2023. 

Who is behind it? 

The #prixalpiq is organised by Alpiq in partnership with the Association of Concession-Granting Municipalities of Valais.
