Over the past two years, we have worked tirelessly to develop the intelligent GridSense energy system. Packaged within a hardware prototype, the GridSense unit completed comprehensive field tests in autumn 2015. Production of the pilot run of the GridSense unit began at the beginning of April 2016. This step represents a major milestone on the way to achieving market maturity for the intelligent energy control system.
The GridSense units are currently integrated into two pilot projects – SoloGrid and EBM – in which they will truly be put to the test in the coming months. As a plug-on, the GridSense unit is installed between the building technology devices to be controlled and the power supply, which makes it compatible with all existing systems. The GridSense unit autonomously controls the connected devices using artificial intelligence and optimises network operation and/or energy costs.
Serial production and the market launch of the GridSense unit is currently planned for summer 2016.
About GridSense
GridSense is the smart technology of the future. It controls electrical equipment such as heat pumps, boilers, electric car charging stations and batteries autonomously and in a decentralised way. This makes GridSense the ideal tool for energy control – and the intelligent Alpiq key technology for targeted turnaround in the energy sector.
