OKA legal dispute between Alpiq and WWZ had been pending before the Olten Gösgen court of first instance for several years. The dispute was based on the validity and interpretation of a long-term electricity supply agreement. The two companies have now reached an out-of-court settlement. The negotiated settlement provides for a one-off settlement payment of CHF 50 million by Alpiq and a new agreement whereby WWZ undertakes to purchase electricity on a long-term basis. The new supply agreement enables Alpiq to optimise its planning and reduce its market risks.
